[pollen] collective

adjective: done by people acting as a group
noun: a cooperative enterprise

“The artists in this group remind me of those early days - when art really was about art - and artists really did share ideas and work together. There is something so creative and exciting about what has been going on here. I have been astonished at seeing how the different artists have bounced off one another. There is sincerity and integrity and enormous hard work. It is inspiring and its made me think that perhaps underneath the big cacophony of money, there are artists who are really exploring the world of ideas and of imagination, who are working individually and collaboratively - supporting one another. What you’re seeing here is special in these times of glossiness. It’s real and it is beautiful.”

Creative communities are rare - and essential.

Born from a need to connect and collaborate, the POLLEN COLLECTIVE is made up of multidisciplinary mid-career artists . Our makers have diverse practices including painting, textiles, print-making, sculpture, sound, animation, video, collage, NFTs, mixed media and photography. Our members regularly collaborate, critique, lecture, teach, blog and exhibit.

The focus of POLLEN COLLECTIVE is firmly on the work; discourse and support are the foundation of our creative community.

We are working together to reimagine what success in the creative industries will look like in the next five years. How will we collaborate, have meaningful conversations, engage with institutions and audiences? How will we exhibit and sell? What can we do to make our practices more sustainable? What themes will be significant and fruitful? What innovations will drive our work? Have a look through our site and learn more about our artists and makers. Feel free to get in touch.
